Career Highlights

Bruce Willis has practiced law for over 18 years, has partnered his own law firm, has been
the executive vice president and general counsel of an investment company and family
office based in Dallas, Texas and was named one of the best lawyers in Texas.

Before practicing law, Bruce conducted environmental and biogeochemistry research for Tulane University and the University of New Orleans in Louisiana.

  • Served as counsel for the merger and then sale of fitness chain in DFW with an owner group of eight individuals and their entities with 38 locations, totaling $100 million.
  • Represented various clients in the start-up stage of their company to advise on private offerings of their company, structure, making introductions to key service providers and drafting various documents, in situations where I have grown with their company and in cases to sale of the company.
  • Served as counsel on equity sale of Plano-based high-tech distributor that exceeded $27 million.
  • Served as general counsel for Dallas-based family office, which owned oil and gas investments, 40 aircraft, and real estate ventures, and the family had a net worth exceeding $1 bil.
  • Served as lead counsel on $120 mil refinance of 50 aircraft both domestically and internationally.
  • Represented a Dallas-Fort Worth based home builder in updating the corporate structure in anticipation of a sale.
  • Served as counsel for a private equity group in (1) acquiring motor-sports dealerships in 12 locations across three states and in (2) building and the investment of various hotels.
  • Served as outside counsel for six banks in drafting and negotiating loan documents on behalf of the banks.
  • Written multiple partnership, employee and contractor agreements involving protection of confidential information, waterfalls, distributions, etc.
  • Represented a real estate fund in acquiring commercial properties in a portfolio of $350 mil and growing.
  • Formed venture capital funds and represent clients on securities-related matters.
  • Represented clients in obtaining various lines of financing, including mezzanine debt, revolving lines of credit, real estate loans, defeasances, and government-backed securities.
